Our Mission
Our mission is to nourish both body and spirit for those dealing with a crisis.
We see it as lots of FOOD and FUN!

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which devastated our Western North Carolina communities, we recognized an opportunity to make a positive impact. To maximize the potential of our three main businesses - Ambrosia Kafeneio, Ambrosia Bakes, and Ambrosia Arcade - we decided to leverage them as a way to contribute and nourish our community. As donations began pouring in from my personal network, I realized that a formal, professional, and transparent way was needed to receive and manage these contributions. This led me to establish a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which would allow us to collect and allocate resources more effectively.
How it Started

Who We Are

The Brewer Family
The Brewer family moved from Raleigh to Boone in 2017, after their oldest daughter committed to App State. They quickly became active in the local community by opening High Country Greek Restaurant in 2018. After a successful few years in the restaurant business they decided to expand the business! Building on their passion for both food and service, in 2023 they launched Ambrosia Kafe, followed by Ambrosia Bakes and Ambrosia Arcade. The arcade is designed to serve as both a fun gathering spot and a hub for their Greeks for Good mission, which was founded by the Brewers after Hurricane Helene to provide support and resources to those in need. Through their restaurant ventures and nonprofit efforts, the Brewers are dedicated to enriching the lives of the people in their community while sharing their love for Greek cuisine and culture.

Ambrosia Kafeneio
Our restaurant, Ambrosia Kafeneio, has taken a huge role in our non-profit mission since food is essential. After Helene hit the western North Carolinas, we started cooking and feeding linemen, locals and volunteers the very day after.
To date we have fed 1500 people a hot meal with our last meal being on Thanksgiving Day 2024. We had 400 guests and continued to receive calls for meals hours after we had run out of food. Our next meal will be a Christmas meal and we will feed 250 people at The Beech Mountain Community Center. Meals will continue into the Winter and beyond as need was great here even before the storm. A soup and baked potato meal is in the works with hopefully a generous donation from Thermos.

Ambrosia Bakes!
Within our Ambrosia Kafeneio, we established a name for our passion to create delicious and unique baked goods. Food and fun would be nothing without a sweet treat, of course!

Ambrosia Arcade
We also have established an arcade in one of our locations to allow for endless hours of fun and excitement for those of all ages. After Helene hit, we started to receive calls about families who had a child with a birthday but since they lost homes and more, a birthday party was not possible and so we decided to put our arcade to work.
For every party we book, it is our goal, with the help of sponsors, to gift a birthday celebration to a child in need. We are working with Watauga County Adoptions, Foster Connection INC and our local school social workers to give us a list of who needs it most. They are ecstatic about this offering and I am too! The response has been moving and confirming that we are on the right track! A $250 donation will allow a child to invite 10 friends for a fun event at our arcade!

And with more donations to come! We have spent hours emailing, asking and advocating for our community and it has been my honor to do so. We don’t ever want to stop.
With the help of your donation, we will continue to do gobs of good in these beautiful mountain communities and maybe one day beyond! Each donation helps us to nourish those suffering most. We treat each donation with the utmost respect and use it wisely.
